net-analyzer/wireshark-1.6.4 just went stable on amd64. Version 1.4.9 is actually installed. emerge -uavND world complains with the following output: Total: 13 packages (13 upgrades), Size of downloads: 34,402 kB Conflict: 1 block (1 unsatisfied) * Error: The above package list contains packages which cannot be * installed at the same time on the same system. (net-analyzer/wireshark-1.6.4::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by net-analyzer/wireshark required by @selected I'm using sys-apps/portage-2.2.0_alpha81 Looking at the ebuild there is indeed a blocker: !!<net-analyzer/wireshark-1.6.0_rc1. I'm not sure if this is a portage bug or an ebuild bug, but surely the blocker looks strange given wireshark is not slotted. Indeed i checked /var/lib/portage/world and wireshark is selected without the version, 1.4.9 is not forced to be installed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install net-analyzer/wireshark-1.4.9 2. emerge -1avND world or emerge -uav wireshark
