Some info learned from #gcompris@libera.irc: Qt6 migration has been done on master, and there is probably a release in January. This, of course, would be an interesting version to add to Gentoo (too?). live ebuild is already KF6-based in kde overlay. In portage we currently find gcompris-2.4, which was released on 2022-04-13. The current upstream version is 4.3 from 2024-11-29. As a quick hack I copied the ebuild of 2.3 to 4.3. It compiled, after adding >=dev-qt/qtcharts-${QTMIN}:5 as requirement. So maybe this would be really a low hanging fruit.
